Outfit of the Month: I See London!
The uniform: Printed midi aline skirt, classic tee, red blazer, block heel
Why I love it: In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve got a crush on vintage fashion. And nothing says old-school-chic quite like a pleated, printed 50s-style skirt. I’m head over heels for the fit, how it sways when I walk and the whimsical London fabric. I also love that, having a pop of just one color, it compliments most everything in my closet. I pair this skirt with classic pieces so it can be the star of the show.
Why it works: Do you see that waist??—Is what I say to myself in the mirror every time I’m wearing this. When it comes to fit, this skirt accentuates the tiniest part of your frame and, as such, is very flattering. The color combination (I’m only using colors already in the skirt) and simplicity (no other prints, crazy textures, etc.) of every other piece keep the look from being too much. When you’ve got a statement piece like this, you don’t want anything else in your outfit to battle it.
