Style Inspiration: Peggy Li Chi

When I came across Peggy Li Chi's Instagram account, it took only a few image glances to know we would be fast friends. She inspires me daily with great fashion tips, comical captions and wonderfully relevant insights on life (I’m still reeling from the time she compared life to a washing machine, which could not be more true). Below is a bit about her and her style. I definitely recommend giving her a follow.

Her style: I'm a wife and mother of two kids, I work part time and am always on the move, so my fashion sense has to be practical. I look for casual, comfy, statement pieces that represent fun, bright and happy feelings. I would say my style is a little edgy, feminine, versatile and effortless.

Why she loves fashion: I love that I can express my individuality without having to say a word. I can engage with the world feeling empowered, compassionate, bold, self-confident and, more importantly, have lots of fun.

Best style advice she’s been given: Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone.

Her top tip: Scout for new clothes in your closet. I’ll take, say, my brothers oversize blazer and pair it with a leather skirt.

What makes her feel beautiful: Owning my body and not being afraid to express my sense of style. Visit my platform and, most of the time, you will see me wearing two different earrings. I embrace my flaws rather than be perfect.

Her female role model: My female role model is not just one person, but all the women whom I’ve met, who have decided they will no longer be a victim of abuse, who can stand up for themselves and who have gained a voice and aren’t afraid to use it. All of these women empower me to learn, make mistakes, ask questions, laugh, grow to accept what has happened and embrace what the future holds.

What she’s wearing: My pink jumpsuit and purse are from Rumor Has It, a pop-up shop run by two entrepreneur moms who work behind the scenes with luxury contemporary brands and are able to provide one-of-a-kind pieces. Their vision is to help women look good and feel good. I am a strong supporter of small businesses. If you plan on having a fashion party, I highly recommend them!
